Did You Know?

If you file Form 8888, Allocation of Refund and your return is delayed in processing, your refund will not be split; all of it will be deposited into the first account listed on Form 8888.

In the event that this could occur, make sure the first account listed on Form 8888 is the account you would want the entire refund to be deposited to.

For example, if your return is prepared by a professional who utilizes this form to deduct their fee, make sure that their account number does not appear on lines 1a, 1b. or 1d.  These are the lines where your information should appear.
